TABLE TOP EXERCISE / BOARD GAME
Training and emergency modeling for our managers, emergency response team and our clinical and operational leads is accomplished with the use of a customized tabletop exercise. This exercise was designed by our leadership team to model situational awareness at mass gatherings and mass participation events.
MASS GATHERING MEDICINE SUMMIT
Mass gatherings professionals are a small, albeit international, community. Several members of our team traveled to New York and presented at a conference sharing ideas and learning from a group of like-minded people from a wide variety of professions. Event producers, health care professionals, and emergency planners came together to network and to begin to collaborate on addressing the big issues related to mass gathering health.
In all of our communities, every year, there are a multitude of small and medium sized events. Very few individuals or groups have access to the full range of equipment and supplies needed to offer first aid or more comprehensive health services at these events. We have created the concept of a “community quilt,” a patchwork of shared resources and expertise that is accessible to the teams and individuals running/staffing small to medium-sized events.
We provide event-related services for events with a national footprint. Because this is the case, we are able to systematize and ultimately improve the standard of care across events. We have created policies and protocols to support the creation of safer events for attendees and participants.
